THE FOG - MYSTERY SOLVED!

Thanks to Jim Hamblin and Kent White for writing in and giving me the 411 on the smoke that floated over the city:

The fire, I'm told, was from the city burning the city dump again. They don't have money for the lime and there's a huge amount of organic waste from the fishing industry. The whole thing has been a recurrent public health hazard . . usually every fall until the weather gets chilly. Sad. Jim Hamblin
