EL COCHITO - THE BEST TACOS IN TOWN

I must say that carnitas are the best hangover cure - period. Couple that with home made agua de tamarindo or fresh squeezed oj and you've got it made!

They are located on Guillermo Prieto - turn at Aka Si! (Melchor Ocampo) when on Benito Juarez, go down 5 or 6 blocks (you'll pass Michoacana on your left, then 2 or 3 more blocks) and turn right on Guillermo Prieto (there IS a street sign!) and park right in front - tacos are $13 pesos and the plates are $55. You can't beat those prices!

The lady that owns it also makes assorted Mexican candies - delish!

Well folks, after doing the Scottsdale run this past weekend with my girl Denise, I have a few words to say about what I've learned:

1. Scottsdale people (for the most part) are pseudo celebs and not really THAT much fun to hang out with - Scottsdale is really a bunch of hype...it was not all it's cracked up to be.

2. The pool at Mondrion gets just as gross as the pool at Bella Sirena when there are 50+ people in it - but Bella's is better because you can walk down to the beach if you get tired of the pool!..........The two afformentioned clubs I was talking about are:

The Reef Beach Club and Blue Buddha

Yes, you read it right - Blue Buddha is re-opening under new management! The Reef Beach Club you should already know is going to be off the hook - stay tuned for more info on that on MYN Online

For after the party, and possibly after the after party - El Cochito is the place to go to help cure yourself - they have the best carnitas and tacos in town - for $13 pesos you get one huge taco (that really renders two) and their aguas de sabor (flavored waters) are better than Michoacana's! The are located in El Centro, on Guillermo Prieto and Sonora. Stop by and try them!.......

EL COCHITO CARNITAS - GOOD EATIN IN ROCKY POINT

El Cochito was closed for a few days, but they are back open for business! Stop in and try the most delicious carnitas I've ever had...I'm up in Phoenix right now, and I have such a craving for them - I can't wait to get back home to have some!

EL COCHITO - CARNITAS IN ROCKY POINT!

El Cochito is really the only place to get good carnitas. They're located over on Guillermo Prieto and Sonora Blvd in El Centro, down from Salmo's, across from where Benny's Pizza used to be. The owners are from Sinaloa, and they are always so warm and friendly!

I recommend the Carnitas en su Jugo - it's a delicious plate of carnitas with onions and cabbage, and you can make your own tacos! It's to die for - and diet friendly, as pork is a white meat, and they have corn tortillas ;)

Tacos are $13 pesos and the plates are $65, I believe - trust me - the pictures barely do it justice - it's a LOT of food!
