ROCKY POINT PICTURE OF THE WEEK
THE PLACE: The Reef RV Park Puerto Penasco, Sonora Mexico THE TRIVIA: The dark clouds of a storm moving across the Sea of Cortez. The sun continues to shine on the beach. What an awesome sight.
However, the storm will pass quickly! (Wouldn't you just love to feel that rain right now?)
PS: Russ and Naomi Black are quickly becoming MYN heroes!

ROCKY POINT NIGHT LIFE BREAK DOWN
Here's a sneak peek of my article for Rocky Point News Online:
Well folks, after doing the Scottsdale run this past weekend with my girl Denise, I have a few words to say about what I've learned:
1. Scottsdale people (for the most part) are pseudo celebs and not really THAT much fun to hang out with - Scottsdale is really a bunch of hype...it was not all it's cracked up to be.
2. The pool at Mondrion gets just as gross as the pool at Bella Sirena when there are 50+ people in it - but Bella's is better because you can walk down to the beach if you get tired of the pool!..........The two afformentioned clubs I was talking about are:
The Reef Beach Club and Blue Buddha
Yes, you read it right - Blue Buddha is re-opening under new management! The Reef Beach Club you should already know is going to be off the hook - stay tuned for more info on that on MYN Online
For after the party, and possibly after the after party - El Cochito is the place to go to help cure yourself - they have the best carnitas and tacos in town - for $13 pesos you get one huge taco (that really renders two) and their aguas de sabor (flavored waters) are better than Michoacana's! The are located in El Centro, on Guillermo Prieto and Sonora. Stop by and try them!.......
To catch the rest, go to Rocky Point News Online and click on the Social section tomorrow when it goes live!

VIOLENCE IN MEXICO - THE REEF RV PARK'S BLOG
I just read an awesome article from Gus Brown over at The Reef RV Park's blog about violence in Mexico.
He says it right: "...There are some others but they are so far south from here that I will not go into in this blog. There has been no acts of violence while traviling from the U.S.A to Rocky Point at the Lukeville or San Luis borders. In fact I have many people when they arrive here tell me 'Gus all the way here we thought about what the news was saying and other people but, now that we are here it is nothing like that at all... they are really hurting the town of Rocky Ponit for no reason...' "
Check out the full meal deal on The Reef RV Park's blog: http://thereefrvpark.blogspot.com/2009/04/violence-in-mexico.html
Be sure to visit often, as he's always got good stuff: www.thereefrvpark.blogspot.com

SATURDAY NIGHT IN PENASCO

Como manacieron? How did you wake up this morning?
I actually feel great - we got home early and got a good night's rest! We met up with Scott and Cathy, owners of S.W.I.M, the pool bar and day grill here at Bella Sirena...we ended up going to the Boo Bar for some drinks - it was Mark's birthday and we all had a grand ole time.
I got to re-connect with Maria Alemany, of Rocky Point Resorts Realty. She's gone independent and loving it! Check out her website here. I also caught up with Garret "Santana" Greenwood who owns the Shark Bite/Santana's coffee - we haven't been over there in forever, we're gonna have to go check it out soon.
After that, we went to the tribute concert of Journey at the Reef. This band - Grupo Escape - gave an AMAZING performace. Everyone was shocked at how authentic they were! Everyone said the same thing, though - they should have promoted it more!
Speaking of promotions, I have one in the works - when I'm farther along with it, you KNOW you'll hear about it...
Stay tuned for some juice!
