UNCOMMON WOMEN ON COMMON GROUND APRIL MEETING
Here is your reminder that tomorrow is our monthly meeting. Last week you received the flyer that we are meeting at Latitude 31 so that everyone who hasn’t done so can pick up their free 10% discount card! But now the surprise…Kit’s new Avon store has just moved to the little shop beneath Latitude 31! So tomorrow at 5pm we will meet downstairs and get her new store off to a proper start. One lucky lady will win a lovely Avon gift basket. Then we’ll head upstairs and wet our whistles, have an appetizer or two, and get the discount cards. Also, make sure you bring plenty of business cards so we can go around and talk about what we do and pass cards around.

UNCOMMON WOMEN ON COMMON GROUND
Rosie is working hard on getting us a venue for next month and it looks like a great time shaping up for a beach bash in June. Stay tuned. Meanwhile, we would like some input as to your favorite charities. We are tossing some ideas around to host a bingo night to benefit ????????

UNCOMMON WOMEN ON COMMON GROUND JANUARY MEETING
Hello to all you Uncommon Women on Common Ground.
If you are in Puerto Penasco on Tuesday, January 17th…please join us for our once-a-month get together at 5:00p.m.
I do apologize for the shorter-than-usual notice, but it has taken me this long to enter all the email addresses into my computer!
Now, for the information you’ve been waiting for;
This month’s gathering on Tuesday will be great fun (and informative for some of you…you know who you are!)
Ms. Lily Vega, owner of Sex City, Puerto Penasco’s sexy-lady store, has graciously invited us to a special open house at her shop! How much fun is that? Lily is providing us with refreshments and nibbles and will give us a tour of her store and a sneak peek at all the….hmm…well, beautiful and sexy stuff, because of course, we are beautiful and sexy ladies! Sex City is located right across the street from the parking lot at Super Ley supermarket, on the Coppel side-street.
I hope that you can make it to our first meeting since Phyllis’ departure. I don’t want her thinking I didn’t do my job properly. If you are coming on Tuesday, please let me know so I can give Lily an educated guess. And if you just want to write and give me a little encouragement, you can do that too!
Hugs to each and every one of you, and I hope to see you there.
Drop Rosie a line to RSVP: rosie@proalliance.com.mx

UNCOMMON WOMEN ON COMMON GROUND
Wow, who knew painting over graffiti could be so fun! We finished our wall next to the Montaña School in record time and then we were on a mission to find more walls to paint. We decided the bathrooms next to the sport court was a good option. Catharine & Terry decided to clean up another wall off the baseball field. Heidi was the finisher! I guess you could say we felt pretty accomplished.
Many thanks to those who showed up with paint brush, roller & tray in hand. Thanks to Eloy Gonzalez for his work to clean up our city, along with the people from the Municipal Institute for Youth who brought us the paint, Scott McLaughlin for being our official before and after photographer and Juan Carlos at Paladar Habana Vieja Restaurant for feeding and entertaining us.
I’m attaching a few photos for you to enjoy and know others have more to share.
Eloy will let us know when other areas are in need and we can just show up when they have other times set up to paint. We donated all our supplies so they will be available for the next event.
Mark your calendars for Tuesday, November 11th at Jill’s new location at the Costa Brava building in the Old Port , Consign & Design. Details to follow…
Stay tuned for pictures!

Eloy & Indalecio will provide the paint and you will need to bring a paint brush. We will be painting a wall located next to the Montaña School and the baseball field.
Following our painting event, we have been invited to the Paladar Habana Vieja (Cuban Restaurant) to enjoy a delicious buffet dinner for only $10 ($100 pesos) organized by Juan Carlos. They have also invited their dancers to perform for us that evening as well!
Please let me know if you will be available so we know 1) how much paint we will need and 2) the restaurant will be ready for us.
We are all looking forward to be able to make a contribution to our city in the beautification process…see you there!!!

UNCOMMON WOMEN ON COMMON GROUND - ROCKY POINT CHAPTER
"Hello ladies – I heard from Rosie Glover we had an amazing turnout for our September 9th evening event at Ocean View. Many thanks to Edgar Padilla for hosting us and especially to Francisco for making the evening so delightful. As always, delicious food, great networking, building more relationships and having FUN!
Rosie discussed our October meeting to get out our paint and brushes and finally have a chance to clean up an area with graffiti. I have emailed Eloy Gonzalez, the gentleman working on this campaign, to find out if they have somewhere they want us to paint or whether we can choose our own. Also, whether he had paint & brushes or wanted us to provide them. I have not received a response yet and will let you know.
In the meantime, mark your calendars for Tuesday, October 14th and we should probably plan to start earlier as it will be getting dark earlier by then. More details to follow….
Thank you all for your attendance and support and especially to Rosie for taking charge of our gathering! See you soon…Cheers!"

UNCOMMON WOMEN ON COMMON GROUND AUGUST EVENT AT THIRSTY PARROT
Wow, off the charts, another unbelievable Uncommon Women event graciously organized and hosted by Catharine Boyle and her sister Terry Miller – I think I say this every month – our best and biggest turnout ever! Photos attached.
Many thanks to the sisters for doing an outstanding job with the silent auction and they raised a grand total of $803!!! Nancy Phelan was there to meet everyone and what a great job for the wonderful donations and great things we “won”! I’m going golfing at Las Palomas thanks to Ron for his donation. This will be a great help to taking care of the medical needs of our animals.
We had great winners for the parrot hat contest with entries from Debbie Vinyard, Gaby Cadena, Maru Zacatelco , Genevieve Chartier and me!
Alex played wonderful music for us, delicious food and the best Margaritas.
Many of you met Laurie Reddington, the psychic/healer, and she will be in town through tomorrow if you would like to schedule a session with her. She has a local Mexican cell phone you can call at (638) 109-6428. I am heading out of town today about Noon and you can also email me until then. After 1PM, call her cell phone.
Mark your calendars for next month to be at the Sonoran Sky Oceanview Restaurant on September 9th for more networking, building relationships & fun!
Stay tuned for pictures!

THIRSTY PARROT HOSTS UNCOMMON WOMEN ON COMMON GROUND
THE THIRSTY PARROT
host Uncommon Women on Common Ground
8/12 at 5:30 pm
Ladies - Don't forget this month's gathering of Uncommon Women will be held at THE THIRSTY PARROT. It's located on the Malecon, just south of Lapa Lapa. It's on your left upstairs. Beginning at 5:30 pm ON 8/12 our 'special margaritas' , ice tea or water will be served as well as yummy appetizers. There will also be a full no host bar throughout the evening. A very ' special dinner' you won't want to miss will begin serving about 6:30. $5 per person at the end of the meal will be collected.
This is going to be a fun filled laid back evening. If you wish to participate in the 'parrothead' dress, winners of different categories will receive prizes. Also, during the evening we will be entertained by Alex, a local vocalist whose CD is also up for bid. A 'Silent Auction' will also be featured, the proceeds of which will be personally presented to Nancy Phelan that evening for the benefit of the animal shelter. And look at the list of items up for bid (and more coming in): Round of golf for four at Las Palomas, a trip to Bird Island, three kayak adventures for two to Morua Estuary, a private serenade by Vania, a private performance by the mariachi ensemble Zafira, dinner for four at The Thirsty Parrot, a massage, pedicure and manicure at the spa at Bella Sirena, CD by Alex, Wine, four first edition books written by one of our own, gift baskets, and more. Bring money (cash, check or credit card) - there is a wide range of minimum bids so everyone has a chance to go home with something AND feel good about donating to the animals. Finally, I'm told Bracken Cherry will be filming for his 'Channel 17' so DON'T MISS IT.
Also, you will have the opportunity to meet Laurie Reddington, here from Sedona, psychic, channel, medium, medical intuitive and healer. She also offers Native American ceremonies.
