May 10th – Mother’s Day – Mexico – begins in the wee hours with songs to Mothers

May 9th – Cholla Bay – JJ’s Cantina – Chili Cook off

Here are 3 great family oriented restaurants that you and your family will be safe from the spring break crazies:

Debbie’s – upper Malecon; traditional Mexican food + Old Port faves like tacos, shrimp cocktails, and shrimp
The Thirsty Parrot – lower Malecon, left had side; the only restaurant in Rocky Point like it! Caribbean themed décor, food, ad drinks – you can’t miss it
Hacienda Las Fuentes – Fremont blvd; traditional Mexican food in a traditional Mexican setting – you will feel like you stepped inside an old Mexican Hacienda. Great kid’s menu selection, too.

ROCKY POINT WEEKEND EVENTS

There is an Iron Chef Competition on Friday the 28th at 1PM at the Sonoran Sky Ocean View Restaurant.

Restaurants in the running: Max’s Café, Hacienda Las Fuentes, Puesta del Sol, & Ocean View Seafood & Steakhouse. Come on out and observe the chefs in action as they prepare an appetizer, salad, main course, and dessert with a secret seafood ingredient which will be judged by our own Jonni Francis & Audrey Anguiano and 2 other judges.

Criteria to be judged: presentation, taste, aroma, and creativity. The 2009 Puerto Peñasco Iron Chef will be honored at the Taste of Peñasco on Saturday.

A ROCKY POINT BIRTHDAY!

Today is Claudia Garduno's birthday! She works for the Larry Large Foundation, and is having her birthday bash at Hacienda Las Fuentes - the party starts at 7:00pm, don't be late! There are only a few tables, so get there and grab one!
There will be salsa music, and just a good time all around! Of course, the food will set the mood - if you've never been to Hacienda Las Fuentes, you HAVE to go check it out!
