POST #901 - HURRICANE IKE PICTURES

Terrifying, isn't it? Everyone in the southwestern USA - count your blessings that we only receive droughts and heat waves which can be avoided...you can't really avoid a 10 or 15 foot wall of water!

My thoughts are with the victims and familes that are STILL out of power in Houston and Galveston.

HURRICANE SEASON - IKE'S FURY

CNN's was quoted to say: "People in Ike's path are being warned to leave or die"

It's getting more and more intense - Ike is going to rip through the gulf - I hope everyone evacuates as they are told - another Katrina is NOT what the US needs right now!

IT'S STILL HOT........AND HUMID!

I say that like it's a bad thing - sweating is really a good way to detox yourself - just stay hydrated! Hey - it's better than that Phoenix heat - "dry heat" more like oven-ish!

I think it's rather have the salty sea breeze - it's healing and keep syour skin nourished :)

Here's the Rocky Point weather report for this week...poolside is the place to be if you're going to be outside!

KEY WEST, Fla. - Powerful Hurricane Ike rolled down an uncertain path Sunday that may lead to the U.S. Gulf Coast late this week, forcing emergency officials to pay attention and leaving millions of people from Florida to Mexico to wonder where it will eventually strike.

"Beach vacationers in the Carolinas prepared to pack up and head inland Friday as Tropical Storm Hanna cruised steadily toward the coast, while others decided to ride out the fast-moving storm that had only a slight chance to become a small hurricane before crashing ashore overnight."

BE THANKFUL!

I know it's hot, Phoenix and Tucson. San Diego, I don't wanna hear it. I know it's hot and humid locals...BUT we need to be thankful. People in the Gulf region are having to evacuate their homes because hurricane Gustav is gathering strength!

THUNDERSTORMS AND RAIN PELT THE VALLEY

"Thunderstorms pounded the Valley on Thursday night, leaving some in the dark and shutting down Sky Harbor International Airport for the second-straight night.

Runways were closed around 8:30 p.m. for about an hour with numerous flights diverted to Las Vegas and others delayed. Meanwhile, two storms converged over Gilbert and Mesa, dumping more than an inch of rain.

Several hundred passengers spent the night on the floor of Sky Harbor, and some flights were delayed early Friday..."
