Hi y'all, Don't know if you are aware of the new Tourist info/Visitor ctr that is about to come on to the scene here in Penasco, but it is a very good thing and long over due! It will be locatd in the Mannys Copacbana bldg. on Benito Juarez. The intentions of this addition to our community are to help promote this city and make our guests feel informed,comforable and safe! All businesses, and input are welcome to get involved. The office space is generously being donated, however it has no AC yikes!!!!! Either 110 or 220 would be great , and a mini split is necessary If anyone out there would interested in donating, or at a very affordabloe price selling one please respond to this post. Stay tuned for further developments, as Penasco grows.

A NOTE FROM CATHI AT THE THIRSTY PARROT

Friends of Rocky Point. I am so excited to share with you a very unique opportunity for each of us to be involved in promoting the benefits of our city. We are all aware of the negative publicity about Mexico in general promulgated by our neighbors to the north. We are also aware the need to have a forum in which to COMBINE, under one roof, our efforts in a positive and proactive way in promoting Puerto Penasco in venues close by as well as far reaching.

In this regard I am pleased to whisper about our fledgling efforts to form and house a much needed central location whereby all businesses have an equal opportunity to offer information about their services and/or products, but additionally a location that provides much sought after information about events, lodging, emergency services, restaurants, entertainment, etc. for tourists to utilize.

Tentatively named "Rocky Point Tourism & Visitor's Assistance Bureau" we anticipate this "bureau" to operate in a similar way as a Better Business Bureau might operate in the United States. Initially, the formulation will occur with the help of volunteers, and the formulation of a Tourism Advisory Committee headed by Rosie Glover. Eventually, when it is obvious our goals are achievable, memberships will become available offering wider business services and benefits, and most importantly, help to fund the successful operation.

It is not without trepredation that this venture begins, however, we are so confident that our city will benefit greatly from sharing the wealth of experience, ideas, and actions that this coming together can provide, that we are proceeding with enthusiasm (albeit not much funding) in order to create this service. The office and electricity is being donated by a much revered local businessman. The furnishhings, including desks, conference table and chairs, phones, laptop, etc., are being provided by enthusiastic supporters, as well as donations of their time.

We invite you to watch your emails carefully for invitations to share your business' information, share your time and/or service to promote this venture.

MYN ON HIATUS

It's been a good 3 years, my dear readers...I've gotten to embark on lots of adventures, parties, and events...it's time for MYN to take a break from the scene. Don't think I'll be gone forever by ANY means, though - I am working on something huge. Bigger than I ever thought I'd be able to do, and it will take up a lot of my time...

MYN is going to be on hiatus for a little bit - expect posts at least once a week, but not 10 a day like before! When I come back , expect a new site and events in Rocky Point like no one has ever done. Think celebrity status parties with people from all over Mexico and the United States...big time stuff!

SCUBA DIVING IN ROCKY POINT

For the summer months Lea will be doing "Try Scuba" on Tues and Wed for $70. This includes basic instruction for you dive and we will dive one on one. I will take you into a very shallow, safe, environment for your adventure under the water. This trip includes water and soda and we will dive for about 30-45 minutes. So now is a great time to see if you would like to give scuba a try!!!!
