The Coastal highway is open although not official. Millions of people just got a lot closer to Puerto Penasco. The road is paved all the way and it is a very good quality road. You can now drive all the way to El Golfo from Rocky Point in about 1 hour and 15 mintues. Better yet Yuma can make it to Rocky Point in about 2 1/2 hours. El Centro, CA. about 3 1/2, and San Diego about 5 1/4 hours.
