CHRISTMAS IS UPON US...
Grant and I are very involved with this great cause on December 16th to feed the less fortunate for the Christmas Holiday. We are working with an incredible group of people within the community and are all very excited and eager to make this successful. We will be delivering food, toys, and warmth to over 1,000 people that live in very bad conditions. In the past years that the church has done this…there has never been enough to go around. We want to make sure that this will not happen again!!
We are asking for your help. Please see below and help us make this successful! A $10 donation will feed an entire family for the holidays…and more will allow us to purchase toys for these unfortunate children. Please donate what you can.
Please feel free to pass this on to friends…..
Blessings to all,
Yvette MacKenzie

Puerto Penasco there are so many families that will have a hard time feeding their children and
trying to stay warm - let alone thinking about providing anything special to their little ones over the holidays.
We know that if we can get a donation from the many people that have visited, invested or live and
work in Rocky Point, we will be able to bring an enormous smile, some warmer nights and fewer
hungry days to a great deal of less fortunate children and families in our small town.
We need to collect all donations very quickly in order to meet our delivery date in mid-December, so
we are asking that donations be made as soon as possible. If you are not in town, please mail your check
today as directed below or if you are in Rocky Point you can drop off a check or cash donation at one of
the locations listed below.

BORDER WAIT RELIEF
Tucson Region
Lukeville crossing set for two more lanes
By Howard Fischer
Capitol Media Services
Tucson, Arizona Published: 11.17.2007
Arizona will spend $1.5 million to construct more lanes at the border crossing at Lukeville to help prevent Arizonans from having to wait for hours trying to get back into this country after visiting Puerto Peñasco.
Members of the state Transportation Board approved the funding at their meeting Friday. Doug Nintzel, spokesman for the Department of Transportation, said the board wants to increase the number of vehicles that can be processed at the often-crowded port of entry.
The funding, though, is contingent on private firms coming up with $1 million. But Gov. Janet Napolitano told Capitol Media Services she has been assured that companies in Puerto Peñasco — better known as Rocky Point — want to expedite the flow of tourists and goods and are committed to providing the money.
Friday's vote comes as Napolitano met with Luis Tellez, Mexico 's communications and transportation secretary, to try to get his government to come up with funds for improvements at border crossings on the other side of the line.
"We need to improve port infrastructure to facilitate the legal movement of goods and people," the governor said after the meeting in Ciudad Obregón , Sonora . She said Tellez agreed the traffic jams that often tie up cars and trucks for hours harm both countries.
"Our economies are being hampered," she said.
And Napolitano said that while Tellez did not commit to providing a specific amount of money, he told her these projects were an objective of his government.
The governor said the ADOT funds will finance two new lanes on top of the existing four on the U.S. side, one of which is dedicated for commercial traffic.
She said, though, that the ADOT money, even if matched with private dollars, isn't the total answer, as additional lanes won't mean anything by themselves.
"I'm not interested in putting money in unless the federal government will staff them," she said. Napolitano said her next job is persuading the federal government, which operates the port, to put money into the budget for the necessary employees.
Beyond that, Napolitano said she wants the border station open 24 hours a day, at least during peak traffic periods. Now the station is closed from midnight to 6 a.m.
The governor said the new lanes are the second part of a three-pronged effort to eliminate the backup on the Mexican side of the border.
Last month, U.S. Customs and Border Protection agreed to direct motor homes and vehicles towing trailers into the commercial lane, at least on Sundays and Mondays. That should make the crossing faster for those in passenger cars.
Napolitano said the entire port of entry, about 100 miles southwest of Tucson , needs to be reconfigured to ease the flow.
Napolitano's trip to Mexico also produced a new agreement with Sonora Gov. Eduardo Bours to work together to lure new firms to the area.
Napolitano acknowledged making that happen, though, has potential political pitfalls.
"I need to be doing things that create and hold jobs in Arizona ," she said. And Napolitano said that, from a pure cost perspective, a company that wants to build things will find that labor is cheaper in Mexico .
But the governor said a case can be made for having operations in both states.
"Certain kinds of jobs are better situated in Arizona ," she said.

POWERFUL WORDS FROM A REAL BUYER...
November 26, 2007
To Whom It May Concern,
I found yesterday’s article in the Arizona Republic ‘Prime deal, prime debacle’ to be not only misrepresentative of the state of real estate in Puerto Penasco but also insulting and harmful to all of the Arizonans who have made sound and secure investments there. I bought a condominium on Sandy Beach a year ago this past October, have my bank trust in hand, and have been able to enjoy my vacation home from the day I bought it.
This article was about one very small area of Penasco but came across as if it was all of Penasco. As in any place in the world there is high risk in buying something on speculation, especially from unknown entities. I, along with over 5,000 other current owners, did my homework on the developer I chose to go with and purchased in a property of sound reputation.
I am a writer and often write about Mexico and investing there. I feel that it is the writer’s responsibility to tell the whole story to the public. I do not believe that this happened in this article. There is nothing wrong with reporting on specific problem areas but I believe it is wrong to sensationalize it to sound bigger than reality.
Sincerely,
Ellen Boland

HELP THOSE IN NEED!
The reason behind the blankets; Last Christmas my husband and I went out on Christmas Day to deliver teddy bears to the children in need. We went about 8 miles out of Rocky Point and located a community of people that had almost nothing. Both my husband and I were so fortunate and gratified seeing the children so happy with their giggling and smiling face, they made us cry. The mother's came to thank us and asked so graciously for a blanket to keep warm. We had not a one. So, my husband and I drove back to Rocky Point, purchased several blankets and delivered them to the families for warmth. The need to care for our local community is now. Winter is approaching. Please help.
'Tis the Season' to give with a warm heart. Please deliver me a new or almost new blanket for our local neighbors who need WARMTH. You can drop the blankets by RE/MAX or call me and I will be happy to pick them up. MX cell - 380-5876.
A warm thank you from my heart.
Please pass the word to all. I will forward this message to all Real Estate Agents in Rocky Point. If you would like to pass the message to family, friend or client, please do so.
Thank you again.
