HAPPY THANKSGIVING

A game warden was driving down the road when he came upon a young boy carrying a wild turkey under his arm.

He stopped and asked the boy, 'Where did you get that turkey?'

The boy replied, 'What turkey?'

The game warden said, 'That turkey you're carrying under your arm.'

The boy looks down and said, 'Well, lookee here, a turkey done roosted under my arm!'

The game warden said, 'Now look, you know turkey season is closed, so whatever you do to that turkey, I'm going to do to you. If you break his leg, I'm gonna break your leg. If you break his wing, I'll break your arm. Whatever you do to him, I'll do to you. So, what are you gonna do with him?'

The little boy said, 'I guess I'll just kiss his ass and let him go!'

MORE PICS FROM SEAFARI'S TRIP TO SAN FELIPE

The happy bunch at dinner
I think Mike Miller could be a photog. I really do.
Rockadile. Yes, Rockadile. Am I serious? Yes. Rock-A-Dile.
This is the BEACH in front of the Malecon
El Cheap-O. Loves it.

SEAFARI'S FIRST TOUR TO SAN FELIPE

The Seafari boat and land monster
Approaching the marina in San Felipe
That's an iStock Photo worthy pic!
Their much smaller, not so cool version of Bird Island
There's another one (minus the toes and "Mauled by RP" shoes) fit for stock photography

LAUGH - YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO

Okay, OKAY! I know you'd rather see pictures of Seafari's epic voyage to San Felipe, but I was reading Perez Hilton (yes, again!) and I just laughed SO hard, I thought I'd share this with you:

Oprah said, "It has been the gifts that cost the least amount of money that mean the most to me" for the two seconds before she promptly dumps them in the garbage and then shuffles around her estate in slippers that cost more than your life."

They say the stretched truth is funnier than anything you totally make up.

TODAY'S GIFT

This pic was taken by Cathy Poturalski at Bella Sirena - how beautiful! It makes you realize that it truely is the little things in life - the things you CAN'T buy that are the most worthwhile!

LETTER FROM CATHY ABOUT ROCKY POINT CHRISTMAS

Thanks to the help of so many last year, we were able to exceed all expectations! So we are going to reach for the stars this year and try to help even more needy families!

The Christmas Season brings us many opportunities to give to those that have very little. Right now in Puerto Penasco there are so many families that will have a hard time feeding their children and trying to stay warm - let alone thinking about providing anything special to their little ones over the holidays.

We know that if we can get a donation from the many people that have visited, invested or live and work in Rocky Point, we will be able to bring an enormous smile, some warmer nights and fewer hungry days to a great deal of less fortunate children and families in our small town.

We need to collect all donations very quickly in order to meet our delivery date in mid-December, so we are asking that donations be made as soon as possible. If you are not in town, please mail your check today as directed below or if you are in Rocky Point you can drop off a check or cash donation at one of the locations listed below.

Volunteers – yes, we are also looking for as many of you as possible to donate some of your time to help prepare the stockings and food baskets, as well as distribute the “gifts of joy” on December 13th. Please let us know via a response to this email if you are available for any of the event preparation or for the actual

distribution of gifts and we will let you know how you can help!

TWO COOL THINGS HAPPENING IN ROCKY POINT SOON

Thing #1: Tours to San Felipe chartered by Seafari to begin once a month - stay tuned for pictures of the first trip, they'll be back this afternoon! Who knew it was only 3 hours across the Sea of Cortez to the Baja side??!! I hope I will be on the next one...

Thing #2: MYN hosted bar crawls. Can't let the whole cat outta the bag, but here are some scratches: They'll be geared toward new bars/bars that (sorry weekenders) us locals don't frequent, but meet the standards to be a great hang out spot...Stay tuned for the first one - you won't wanna miss it, I puh-rom-ise! Coming your way the 2nd week of December...

Today is Marco's b.day! Feliz cumple, wey!

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU

From Alaska to Sweden, the Ivory Coast to Sri Lanka, I am humbled at how many people AROUND THE WORLD read about Rocky Point. It's truely a joy for me to open up Google Analytics and look at my world map to see where my visitors come from. Of course, most come from North America (woo woo!) but I think it's pretty darn neat that someone (TWO someones) from Sri Lanka got a little taste of MYN.

Thank you for your support, thank you to the folks that write in, THANK YOU to everyone for reading my lil ol blog!

If you have any questions, comments, or suggestions please don't hesitate to write me: mynparty@yahoo.com.mx

ROCKY POINT WEATHER

With a heavy sigh, I must break the news to you: put away your swim trunks and bikinis. Summer's over!!! (Duh - it's Thanksgiving almost.) We sure did enjoy it, though. Check out our Thanksgiving forecast here. I'd bring a jacket and light scarf if I were you, weekenders! Locals, it's time to do away with flip flops I think :( I need to see if I even own socks...

It's looking dreary outside today, folks. It's a nice change, though...makes me wanna curl up with soup and a good book!

ROCKY POINT TASTE OF PENASCO CHARITY EVENT

Beginning at Noon on Saturday, there will be eight restaurants, one winery from Baja California and the Culinary School at the University participating in the Taste of Peñasco fund raiser for our local Lions Club.

Local artists will be featuring their art, a percentage of sales to be donated to the Lions Club. As this is a family fun filled event, there will be the brincolin for the children, along with a clown to do face painting. QUOTE OF THE DAY

“I really have a good attitude about tattooing. When I first got one, two years ago, I was like, ‘I’m not going to overthink this or what it means, or what it’s going to be like when I’m 80. I want to get tattooed today, and in five weeks, I’ll get a SpongeBob tattoo.’ Will I regret it someday? I don’t know, but I’m not going to deny myself this pleasure today because of what I don’t know in the future.”

- Marc Jacobs tells the new issue of Rolling Stone

A NOTE FROM ONE THAT LEFT THE FLOCK

Todd Melcher wrote me and wants me to spread the news: (PS: he's engaged!)

Hola from Puerto Vallarta!

Patty's house is coming along great! We started construction last December and have been ahead of schedule and on budget the whole time! Our architect Alberto Alvarez is the man responsible for both of those great things and we could not be happier with him.

He and his wife Gabriela have recently finished a masterpiece home on the coast of Mismaloya South of here and it is being considered for inclusion in Architectural Digest! Please visist the link below to see the home and vote for it to be included in the pages of the magazine. Please note that one of the homes its being compared to is a renovation. The before picture shows a beautiful pool table in the focal point of the room, and then after... no pool table! Not what I call home "improvement"!

Alberto's made us a really incredible home and the home in Mismaloya, well It really is a gem of a home as those of you who've seen it know, so give it a look and vote!

DISTURBING NEWS

It seriously chruns my stomach to the core to hear about that kid that OD'd on pills and STREAMED IT through his webcam...are you kidding me?! He committed suicide with people literally cheering him on, and no one can really do anything to punish those aggers-on because there are no laws for this sort of erratic, raucous behavior.

What the hell is wrong with people these days? Excuse my language, but my gosh - is this what we're reduced to? Is this where and when humanity takes a turn? One group of people goes rouge by streaming horrible things while the others try to save the environment and get their credit back on track????

I just can't believe it. How sad. Where were his PARENTS?! That kid was somebody's son...brother, maybe?

What is this world coming to? It just breaks my heart.

EEUU QUIERE DEVOLVER A MEXICO COSAS MAYAS

GOOD NEWS ARIZONA REAL ESTATE

Grant MacKenzie Sr of Re/Max Legacy here in Rocky Point sent me this link and this article on the housing market in Arizona:

"The latest National Association of Realtors read on the housing sector
shows an industry still in shambles, but a bright spot in Arizona.

According to the group's third-quarter report, the largest sales gain
among states - 28.3 percent over the second quarter - was in Arizona.
California and Nevada were close behind.

Still, four out of five metropolitan areas recorded lower home prices in
the third quarter from a year earlier, while existing-home sales fell in
32 states from the second quarter."

YES, THEY'RE PIRATES - NO, THIS ISN'T THE CARIBBEAN

"The Indian navy sank a suspected pirate "mother ship" and chased two attack boats into the night, officials said Wednesday, as the owners of a seized Saudi oil supertanker negotiated for the release of their vessel and its $100 million cargo.

A multinational naval force has increased patrols in the waters between the Arabian Peninsula and the Horn of Africa, where pirates have grown bolder and more violent — most recently seizing Thai and Iranian ships."
