Man, what a day! Yesterday the girls shot on the beach, and at the beach house, and yesterday afternoon we shot out at Chango's then went out to JJ's for the sunset - we got some AWESOME shots - can't wait to see them!

The results are in for the cover girl contest winner, too...did you actually think I'm going to spill the beans right now? Oh no...you'll have to wait a little bit for that - check back soon for the winner of the cover girl contest!

Don't forget June 6th (Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers weekend) is the calendar signing party at Chango's - don't miss it!

ROCKY POINT FOOD DISTRIBUTION

We handed out 500 + blankets, 4 boxes & 6 bags of clothes, about 200 jars of peanut butter, some honey, soup, about 200+ toys, a big giant bag of sweats, fruit cups, toothpaste/toothbrushes, coffee, soaps & shampoos, tuna and lots and lots of hugs!

In case you are wondering the folks who were able to join us were; Steve, Annie, Shelby, Sofia & Blue Sells; Mary Snyder, Annie (from puerta privada) and her friend, Barbara Wilkinson, Michael Johns and Luis Altamirano!

Stay tuned for pictures of the RP Christmas event yesterday - it was so wonderful! We fed 1500 families or more, I think - there were 8000 hot dogs, 3700 toys...it was awesome!

Thank you SO much to the ministries that came down from the states to help out!

ROCKY POINT CHRISTMAS CHARITY DRIVE

This year's Rocky Point Christmas charity drive is going to be bigger and better than ever! Here is a map to the event, but if you don't read maps (like moi) here are the directions:

Just take Simon Morua East to the Cemetary then go right at cemetery & take immediate left then follow east for 9 blocks.

If you aren't doing anything tomorrow, then you should come out to this event - we are able to help so many needy families that are less fortunate - it's an awesome thing! Last year, we helped 1000 families. This year, we've been blessed to afford to help 1500!! Its a great event for a great cause. We're starting tomorrow morning at 10:00am if you can make it.

ROCKY POINT CHRISTMAS BAGGING EVENT

We just got back from the event, and boy - was it a doozy! There were twice (three times?) the amount of people from last year, and we filled 1,500 bags of food...

IN 3 HOURS!!

Last year, it took almost 5, and there were only 1000 bags. Thank you thank you thank you to all who came out - what a success!

ROCKY POINT CHRISTMAS CHARITY DRIVE PRE EVENT

In half an hour, I will be at the Rocky Point Christmas Charity pre event: bag stuffing! We've got 1500 bags to fill for families that are less fortunate - what a great way to give back!

Starts at 11am - there will be pizza and sodas...from Calle 13 and Luis Encinas, turn away from the Old Port, go 2 blocks, then one to the left - you'll see all the cars and the big warehouse on your left!

Besides the Rocky Point Christmas bag stuffing event, Thursday is LADIES NIGHT at The Thirsty Parrot - ladies get cocktails for FREE from 6-9. Yes gals, you drink free!

Date: Thurs Dec 11th Time: 11 am (right after the AMPI meeting)Place: Miguel's warehouse
Directions: From the stop light at Calle 13 and Luis Encinas (old Realty Execs office), go north (toward Mr Rocky's) 2 blocks and turn left, go 1 block.

Can't miss it..it's rust with cantera stone, on the corner. Dress warm if it's cold with comfy shoes. Last yr we finished in about 4 hrs with about 35 people.

This year we're doing 1500 bags instead of 1000, so help us find as many people as we can. It was a fun time and completely rewarding. Please help us give back!

Pizza and drinks will be provided.

Today at 1pm, the Iron Chef competition will begin at Bella Sirena with the executive chef from Max’s Café, Hacienda Las Fuentes, Puesta del Sol, & Ocean View Seafood & Steakhouse.

Tomorrow starting at noon is the Taste of Penasco! Come out and enjoy the food, friends, and fun!

LETTER FROM CATHY ABOUT ROCKY POINT CHRISTMAS

Thanks to the help of so many last year, we were able to exceed all expectations! So we are going to reach for the stars this year and try to help even more needy families!

 

The Christmas Season brings us many opportunities to give to those that have very little. Right now in Puerto Penasco there are so many families that will have a hard time feeding their children and trying to stay warm - let alone thinking about providing anything special to their little ones over the holidays.

 

We know that if we can get a donation from the many people that have visited, invested or live and work in Rocky Point, we will be able to bring an enormous smile, some warmer nights and fewer hungry days to a great deal of less fortunate children and families in our small town.

 

We need to collect all donations very quickly in order to meet our delivery date in mid-December, so we are asking that donations be made as soon as possible. If you are not in town, please mail your check today as directed below or if you are in Rocky Point you can drop off a check or cash donation at one of the locations listed below.

 

Volunteers – yes, we are also looking for as many of you as possible to donate some of your time to help prepare the stockings and food baskets, as well as distribute the “gifts of joy” on December 13^th. Please let us know via a response to this email if you are available for any of the event preparation or for the actual

distribution of gifts and we will let you know how you can help!

ROCKY POINT TASTE OF PENASCO CHARITY EVENT

Beginning at Noon on Saturday, there will be eight restaurants, one winery from Baja California and the Culinary School at the University participating in the Taste of Peñasco fund raiser for our local Lions Club.

Local artists will be featuring their art, a percentage of sales to be donated to the Lions Club. As this is a family fun filled event, there will be the brincolin for the children, along with a clown to do face painting. Live entertainment by La Culebra and a DJ should spice things up and get everyone ready for the bachelor and bachelorette auction, featuring our own Lannette Phipps & Claudia Garduño. Come out and support the event and bid on our bachelorettes! There will be a raffle with over 20 prizes. Also, S.W.I.M will have a libation station for us to enjoy.

We hope to see you there to support this local charity that does so much for our community.

We are asking everyone to bring a pair of glasses they are no longer using as a donation to the Lions Club.
