WHAT: Grand opening of new café & first in a series of cultural exchange art exhibitions

WHERE: Cholla Bay(near Puerto Penasco), Sonora, Mexico. On the main road

WHEN: 6-8 pm Saturday, October 17, 2009 

Xochitl’s Restaurant, a long-time favorite community gathering and dining spot in Cholla Bay, Mexico, will celebrate the grand opening of their new, larger space Saturday, October 17^th. The new building is on the left side of the road closer to the entrance of Cholla Bay than the previous location.  Owner, Sally Dalton, is thrilled to add some new menu items and to welcome Phoenix chef, Jerry Ketelhut, who will offer special evening entrees  for diners.

East Valley Artist, Susi Lerma, will exhibit her artwork in the first of a series of cultural exchanges planned for the spacious main dining room. Mexico is a favorite theme for her large, boldly colored paintings.  “I am happy to exhibit again in Mexico. I am not worried about the reports of crime.  I think Rocky Point is as safe as Phoenix ” said Lerma when asked about the situation.  “…great beaches, food, and wonderful people.”
