Remember that crane accident in Cowboy Stadium? Well, here is an update sent in by Amy in San Antonio...
"Saturday morning update: Wes had to be put back under sedation and on the ventilator last night b/c he was so worn down from yesterdays activities. All the nurses and Drs. say that he is one STRONG boy. He is very muscular and they are having a tough time controlling his body. He had a peaceful night. This morning they have already tried to decrease the sedation, HE OPENED HIS EYES!!! However, he became extremely violent and they were forced to immediately start the sedation again. My dad said that this is joyous b/c this is the first time he has opened his eyes, but devastating b/c he doesn't know what is going on and it is evident that he is extremely frightened. He was biting down on his ventilator tube and was turning beet red. Dad is very upset and is not handling this part very well. Pray for him and mom. Our prayer today is that Wes will have peace today and understand that he is not in trouble while in restraints but that it is for his own well being. Also pray that when they do wake him up again that he will begin to follow commands."

So last night we went for drinks at S.W.I.M...as we were minding our own business (like most locals do when weekenders are around) there was a lady and her son partying it UP in cabana #1...Gia and her clan arrived and they snapped pics of the enebriated mom on the table, making a grand ass of herself! Her poor 14 year old son that she said could not leave was totally mortified that his mother was acting so foolishly...

Yesterday, a crane crashed at Cowboy Stadium in our home town of Arlington, TX. Unfortunately, someone close to us was involved!
"Please pray for us. My brother, Wesley Harlow, was the man critically hurt at the cowboys stadium today. He was care-flighted to Baylor Hospital and we have been given a high security status. The media is everywhere! He is still listed as critical and they are telling us at this point his injuries are still considered life threatening. They say the next three days will be the most critical and will help us know what we are facing. He had severe head trauma, internal injuries, collapsed lung, multiple facial fractures, and eye trauma. He is not awake and they have him in a drug induced paralyzed state. We have been given open access to see him whenever we want, so that is helping us. However, it is horrible to just stand there and stare at him and feel completely helpless. PLEASE PRAY!!! My Mom and Dad made it here safely from Houston and have set up camp at the hospital. At this point, pray that his brain injuries will heal and that he will have no ill effects. Also pray that there is no sight loss from the eye damage.

"This is from Mitch (Burleson C.O.P.S. member) & Gillian Duck. This update was at 2:31am today. I have since talked to Mitch less than an hour ago and he wanted me to let everyone know that the radio station is reporting that Wes is deceased BUT HE IS NOT DECEASED!!!! At this time they don't need us to do anything EXCEPT PRAY for them that everything will be okay!! Mitch is keeping me posted and I will continue to keep you posted as I get updates. If you have any other questions, feel free to email or call me."

MORE ON LAST FRIDAY'S AWFUL ACCIDENT
I talked to a guy that was only about 10 cars behind the wreck - he told me that:
A minivan (SUV?) had been flying past cars for a while, and basically driving wrecklessly...they went to pass someone else, though there was an on-coming car. The driver didn't know that there were actually two cars - the first on-coming car swerved off the road and into the ditch, and the second car didn't have the time and collided with the minivan (or SUV - I cant' remember which one) head-on.
I don't exactly know how many fatalities there were, but I'm almost sure both drivers passed away. It's so unfortunate that this happened, but accidents can be prevented! Pass safely, and respect the speed limits, and PLEASE don't drink and drive!

THE WRECK ON FRIDAY
I'm sure everyone is aware of the horrible car accident that occured on Highway 85 on Friday afternoon...I heard the story from a man that got passed by the van that caused the wreck. It's so unfortunate, but so preventable!
Next time you're in a rush to get to Rocky Point (which isn't going anywhere) please please realize that you are out in the middle of nowhere for a good part of the drive, pass safely, wear your seatbelts, and don't drink and drive!
Life is great - don't miss out on it.

A MIRACLE
Chris McGinty sent us this just now about someone close to her:
"We have a lady (Stella) at church about my age we've all been praying for. They recently found a tumor on her pancreas. She had a CT scan done a couple weeks ago and they determined they had to go in after it pretty much thinking it was cancer. They told her it could be a long haul as they were going to have to probably take a part of the pancreas out and didn't know where the tumor was growing. They didn't know if it was growing on the back side or growing inward from the CT scan. She had surgery Friday. The tumor was on the outside only but very hard so presuming cancer it was immediately sent to the lab where they determined it was benign!!! They didn't have to take any of the pancreas and she was sent home the following day and doing very well!
Now that is the power of prayer!"

Ahh baseball season...I LOVE baseball season! Notice I said "baseball season" and not "baseball" all by itself...the sport bores me, to be frank - unless it's a good game. What I love is going to the park, being in the park...and (dare I say it?) STADIUM FOOD.
What's not to love about hot dogs - no - chili dogs with extra cheese, french fries (cheese optional, but preferred) and a pint or two (or three?) of cold draught beer to wash it all down. Don't forget there are brownies and apple pie a la mode and cotton candy for dessert...YUMM
