ROCKY POINT REAL ESTATE FROM THE GRAPEVINE...

Since we're not bound to any particular sect of the real estate world anymore, we thought we'd dish to you some grapevine whispers:

  • Wayne Corcoran left (got fired?) from Realty Execs
  • Riviera Real and TCG got together and had an amicable meeting with all the clients who purchased a condo at the project - all owners we've talked to so far told us they're happy with the results!
  • Penasco Bay, aka Marriot resort is slowing up their plans to move forward. Why? We hear they're waiting for funding.
  • Speaking of funding, La Perla is supposed to be waiting for funding as well.

Awesome that we're hearing good things about stalled projects! The market will pick up again, we're just still waiting for it. If enough people speak positively about these matters, then maybe Rocky Point will see a rise in sales again!

**DISCLAIMER** We do not deem any of the above information to be true or false. It is merely a report of things we have heard and have no connection or opinion preference to matter.

Click here to read the rest of this article. It's great that Cali jumped on board to allow same-sex marriage. It IS 2008, after all! Progress is essential, we just hope that tolerance will go along with these changes.

ROCKY POINT BLOGGER DOWN!

(sniff sniff) Hey everyone,

We caught a nasty flu bug of some sort, and it knocked us down! :( Beware if you wake up with a sore throat and don't do anything about it - NO, it will not go away. Day #2 isn't pretty...we're out of commission today (cough cough) and laying (more like writhing and being uncomfortable) in bed.

Being sick is about the most unglamourous thing in the world. We'll be back to normal very soon, though!

GOOD MORNING ROCKY POINT!

Dick Cheney and George W. Bush are having breakfastat the White House. The attractive waitress asks Cheney what he wouldlike and he replies, 'I'd like a bowl of oatmeal and some fruit.''

"And what can I get for you, Mr. President?"

George W looks up from his menu and replies with his trademark wink and slight grin, 'How about a quickie this morning?''

"Why, Mr. President!" the waitress exclaims, "how rude! You're starting to act like President Clinton," and the waitress storms away.

Cheney leans over to Bush and whispers.......... 'It's pronounced quiche.

LET'S NOT HAVE TOO MUCH FUN...

Surviving the Slump
by Ralph Roberts

Realtors across the country are hurting. Housing markets are in a downward spiral. Homeowners are flocking to FSBO websites to list their own homes. Internet lead generation services are heating up the competition. And many agents are offering cut-rate commissions to survive the cutthroat market...

Realtors have to remember, however, what most retailers already know -- competing on price alone is for suckers. Start offering sellers lower commissions and you are setting yourself up for a world of hurt, both in the short-term and well into the future. Once you establish a reputation as the "cheapest agent on the block," turning that around later can be nearly impossible.

Instead of competing by offering lower commissions, find something else to compete on -- quality service, experience, and know-how. Adjust your marketing materials to highlight current market conditions and your unique ability to sell homes in a down market...
